Singapore TOTO Prize Groups Explained
From the Group 1 jackpot down to Group 7 — how matching rules work, and where the Additional Number fits in.
What Are Prize Groups?
Every TOTO draw sorts winning entries into prize groups, numbered Group 1 through Group 7. Each group represents a different matching outcome — how many of the 6 Winning Numbers an entry matched, and in some groups, whether it also matched the Additional Number. An entry falls into exactly one group per draw, based on the best match it achieves.
Group 1: The Jackpot
Group 1 is the top prize: it requires matching all 6 Winning Numbers. It is shared equally among however many entries achieve that match in a given draw. When no entry matches all 6, the Group 1 pool does not simply disappear — the official rules determine what happens to it next (see the Cascade Draw section below).
Group 2 to Group 7
The remaining groups cover partial matches, generally requiring fewer of the 6 Winning Numbers, with the Additional Number used in some groups to distinguish between similar outcomes (for example, separating "5 Winning Numbers" from "5 Winning Numbers plus the Additional Number"). Each group has a different prize pool and, typically, a much larger number of winning entries than Group 1. The exact number-matching rule for every group is published in Singapore Pools’ official TOTO Game Rules, which this site links to from its Guide page.
Where Do Winning Numbers and the Additional Number Fit In?
The 6 Winning Numbers alone determine most of the prize groups. The Additional Number’s role is narrower: it only matters for the specific groups whose rules explicitly include it, where it acts as a tiebreaker-style condition on top of a partial match of the 6 Winning Numbers. It is never used to determine Group 1 (the jackpot), and it is not a number you select yourself — see What Is the Additional Number in Singapore TOTO? for more on that distinction.
What Happens When Nobody Wins Group 1?
If a draw passes with no Group 1 winner, the jackpot pool typically carries forward to the next draw, which is why estimated jackpots can grow across consecutive draws. Singapore TOTO also has a specific rule for a long "no Group 1 winner" streak: after the 4th consecutive draw without a Group 1 winner, a Cascade Draw is triggered, and the accumulated Group 1 pool is shared with Group 2 winners instead of carrying forward again. This site labels any draw it identifies this way as a calculated Cascade Draw, since it is derived from the official Group 1 winner counts rather than published as a separate real-time feed by Singapore Pools.
