Do Consecutive Numbers Appear Often in Singapore TOTO?
Pairs like 12-13 or 27-28 show up more often than you might expect — here is what the historical data actually says.
What Counts as a Consecutive Pair?
A consecutive pair is simply two numbers next to each other in counting order — 12 and 13, or 27 and 28, for example. When this site's Statistics page reports "Consecutive Numbers" in its Pattern Snapshot, it is counting exactly this: how many adjacent pairs appear among a draw's 6 Winning Numbers once they are sorted from lowest to highest.
A draw can contain zero, one, two, or more such pairs. Three consecutive numbers in a row (like 12, 13, 14) count as two consecutive pairs (12-13 and 13-14), not one.
How Common Are Consecutive Pairs?
Based on the 1,215 official Singapore TOTO draws this site currently covers (draw #2995, 9 Oct 2014, through the latest draw, #4209, 17 Aug 2026), 567 draws — about 46.7% — contained at least one consecutive pair somewhere among their 6 Winning Numbers. In other words, close to half of all draws in this dataset had two numbers sitting right next to each other.
This is not a coincidence or a hidden pattern — it is simply what happens when you draw 6 numbers out of 49. With that many numbers spread across a relatively small range, at least one pair landing next to each other is a common, unremarkable outcome.
One Pair, Two Pairs, or More
The exact breakdown across the dataset: 648 draws (53.3%) had no consecutive pair at all, 449 draws (37.0%) had exactly one pair, 106 draws (8.7%) had two pairs, and 12 draws (1.0%) had three or more. So while having no consecutive pair is the single most common outcome, having at least one is nearly as common overall.
How This Is Measured
These figures come directly from this site's historical dataset — the same one used for the Results and Statistics pages — by sorting each draw's 6 Winning Numbers and counting adjacent pairs. No third-party or estimated data is involved.
What This Doesn't Mean
This is a description of the past, not a forecast. A consecutive pair appearing in a past draw does not make one "more likely" or "less likely" to appear in the next one — each draw is an independent, random event. See Hot and Cold Numbers: What Lottery Statistics Really Mean for more on why frequency data isn't a prediction tool. You can explore this and other patterns yourself on the Statistics page.
